If you can make it, yeah, gear would be great

Ditching meetings sounds a little drastic!

Just back from the photo thing- thanks to tragic, jargs and andy- All looking very gorgeous and the guys took some time to compose a nice shot so here's hoping that all goes well.
Who knows what direction the story might take now with the election news.... makes alot of what I said about tabling the petition null on void.

Carpenter must have heard about the petition and called the election just to make it hard.

Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

As it is election season the parliament will be in a state of turmoil. Riot?

    It worked in Russia.

Thanks for your leadership on this one Swee. Hopefully this becomes front page news in the Western Suburbs.......Let's face it they are the marginal seat who will be getting the 1.1 Billion dollar travesty.

The petition still must be tabled in Parliament once Parliament sits again.

Yes but i thought that one of the goals of the petition was to show support exists for such a stadium and to attempt to turn the issue into an election issue. Espeacially seeing as the Labor party seem to not give a shit. What does having it tabled after the election do for us??

A good question - we should have another petition chat and figure this all out - ASAP

My guess is that the whole commonwealth thing was a stunt by Labor cause they didn't need a 8,800 people signature with all those questions tabled in parliament.

The next question is will the AFL people tell the Liberals to shut up about the stadium so that it gets built and they can worry about the Maths later - i.e. will it be financially viable without the Rugby and large events like the commonwealth games ?

Personally I think the stadium will get built, there seems to be bipartisan support for it now......that doesn't make it the right solution to the problem it simply means we need to factor that into our argument.

First things first, everybody get in touch with your local MP and see where they stand on the issue....also see where the major party challenger stands. If an independent stands a chance, talk to them, see where votes in your electorate will affect things, we can then organise a rally in the right electorates to force pressure on the party we're backing.
