Incompetent isn't the right word... But its the first one that comes to mind.

Canterbury used to do the swappa thing with Merhts and MacDonald. Merhts #10 on attack, then slip back to #15 on defence (to kick not last line of D). Between McCaw and MacDonald not many got thru with ball in hand to Merhts (who was a little suspect on D!). #15 is also the best place posi with a view on attack, pick your hole, plenty more time to decide to kick or run, to kick for position or to regather blah blah blah.
Perhaps a Harry, JOC thing like that may be the go. JOC doesn't need Nonu on the cut back, not at his weight or tender years.
I really don't think his defense is a worry. He's showed a ton of guts and a pretty good technique for a young gun in the past. Reckon he's quite a but bigger and stronger this year too. Looks like the coaches reckon he's needed there as a steady hand retrieving the kicks and using that thumping boot. He's got the vision to know when and where to inject himself on attack too.

Now that sounds a lot like you're giving a lot of credit to one of those Mini League Mungos there Rex. Even if you did confuse a Cuzzie Bro with just a plain old Bro. Careful the disguise is slipping.![]()
