"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now if you know what you’re worth then go out and get what you’re worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain’t you! You’re better than that!" - Rocky Balboa
It was more like $70 million.
I think it was ensuring the Force are completely funded by Forrest for 6 years @ $8 million/yr, or possibly 8 years @ $6 million/yr, and doesn't cost the ARU (as it was) a cent for that period, plus $20 million to pay-off other SR teams to allow Australia to retain 5 teams.
And Forrest said he'd pay that provided Clyne stepped down as Chairman.

The Brumbies and Rugby WA have announced profits Uncle Cam we are waiting for the VRU/Rebels announcement. No hiding as you handed ownership over in 2017.

Not quite. According to what was said in the Senate inquiry Clyne said he and the board would step down if the demands were met which they were and more.
Calling Andrew Forrest's bluff backfired and Clyne was left looking like a fool. Of course he denied the telephone call with Mr Vaux but I know who I believe.

My recollection from the hearing was $50m to ARU for "grassroots" etc, an additional $20m for legal costs involved in keeping five teams plus ensuring the Force was cost free to ARU until end of current broadcast deal, so well more than $70m in real terms.

Proudly Western Australian; Proudly supporting Western Australian rugby
So to wrap up:
WF enter alliance agreement, sell IP and Super License
ARU agree to cut a team, then float idea to SNZAFU
ARU get legal advice only WF can be cut but pretend Rebels are in frame
WF cut in major surprise
Legal action started, then fail coz ARU don't reveal crucial information on Rebels deals that would void contract
Welborn testimony and Vaux email are evidence at Senate Inquiry
Clyne offered to resign if ridiculous demands met
Forrest doubles down and calls his bluff
$50m plus $20m offered....grassroots, Force is funded, compensation to SNZAFU etc so RA can't get their filthy MIT's on the lucre
Clyne and Robinson walk out on lunch in a huff
North, Clarke, Cox accidentally see WF contract details
Secret put option revealed for Rebels
Clyne, Slick Willy, Clarke lie through teeth to Senate Inquiry, Cox a no show.
Cox gets a brown paper bag of filthy lucre to save his bacon and trigger another secret put option for Rebels
Rebels sold for $1 to VRU which has no money
Rebels sign two entire squads including Wallabies, plus entire WF coaching staff, yet remain under celery cap
Rebels get no cash from dubious sponsors
Rebels sign Quade, Jones, Toomua, and others
TWAT denies everything
I'm sure I've missed something
The long sobs of autumn's violins wound my heart with a monotonous languor
- Stall Twiggy’s comp approval till December so he has three months to get started. As a result Pichot goes postal
- Rebels major sponsor facing a wind up order from ASIC. Another sponsor signs up and has their viability called in to question
- ASIC turn down investigation in to the RA and Rebels deals
- Perth Bledisloe sells out in three days
- The RA cancel Jake White call and hire Scott Johnson as DoR commencing March with a pay out to the SRU
- Wallabies ranking get as low as seventh. A poor RWC and not turning around results by 2021 will see them in a pool of death in 2023
Cameron and his mates are playing bs bingo over on the Twiggy article on The Roar.

I dunno what you blokes are on about. There's obviously nothing to see here. Now why don't you chaps just move along? Preferably in quiet.
