Need to retain structure, we go too many phases and forget what we're doing. Too many games this year we have great territory and possession and don't have the attacking spark to finish teams off.

Was I the only person confused by the commentators' thoughts that the Force would want to defend their bonus point loss at the death? Still, glad to see the team playing for the win, even if they couldn't quite get there.
We need to get lower body positioning on attack and defense.
I wasn't upset by the final result. Reasonable result considering last week's battering. As others have said, we need to learn how to finish off when we are in the opposition 22. Should have done more in the last 10 minutes when we were 1 man up
Hurricanes are a good team in a tough comp(possibly toughest in sport). We played a good game, only critical comment would be missing first up tackles again, giving them forward momentum. Attacking spark still missing , Alby has most of our line breaks for the season. Sign JOC, despite his knobhead tendencies he is a class player.

The part of the match i was disappointed with was the influence the rookie ref had between the 5min to the 20min after we had started well and had momentum up. We kicked a penalty to touch and from the resultant maul did not receive the penalty for the collapse that led to the Hurricanes clearing their line. This was followed by the Toby Lynn penalty for advancing in front of Haywards kick which Dellit had put us onside, then numerous pick and goes close to the Hurricanes goal line where players were clearing holes for teammates to go through.
The Force played well, held possession well but got lost and didn't know what to do after 5 or 6 phases. Too many times we got to this position then a forward runner got isolated. Rasolea is not a 12. This switch from Foley was where our flow in attack broke down with Rasolea not knowing what to do without SNK.
Defense was down a bit too overall with another slip over gifting a try.
Alby's try was sensational.
There are 3 types of people in this world, those that can count and those that can't
PS. Toby Lynn is a complete plank. Is too soft for Super Rugby. Does not make metres, does not make big tackles. Does not gain respect from opposition.
Hopefully the 'big name Tah' (oxymoron?) is either Timani or Douglass to go with Madness to give us a truly hard ass lock combo.

Since I missed it completely, how did the new kids go?

Lynn & Wykes are the biggest pair of powder puffs in Super Rugby. We desperately need the 2nd row strengthened. Walton's too raw for a starting spot, so without MMM we're screwed for now!
Tupou and Hayward ain't full backs & Rasolea doesn't fit at 12. Can't help thinking KG would have prospered tonight
10 weeks in and we only have a settled 9 & 12?
Great game, Fucken battled right through to the 80!
just watched the game. I'm pretty pleased with how we are progressing atm. certainly not perfect, but a shitload better than most of what we played last season.
Seemed to keep our structure better for much of the game, just need a talent injection in a few key areas and to keep learning how to execute - particularly after multiple phases when we seem to get a bit tired and lose the structure
So, short answer for me, we may be on the road back (long though it will be). Keep it up Mr Foley.
PS KG would have made a big difference tonight

fekking recording stoped 3 seconds after the 80min mark.. i know we didnt get any more points but was sooo frustrating to have to resort to the interwebs to find out the final score.. foxtel you SUCK!
i thought we played well, occasional lapses in support play of the driving player when it was vital and turn-overs resulted just as we got go-forward. too many players falling of tackles. Defensive coach has much to work on in that regard. Hodgo, Lynn, Wykes, Mathewson, Dellit, Rasolea all did it. got a strong hit in but then seemed to just let go when they thought the player was going down when they werent...
great try by Albi though.
Ref didnt police the scrum well at all. Hurricanes infringed on the far side all night, either by dropping the bind or by wheeling. Touchies shouldve picked that up too.
TBH the result was not as bad as it could have been. These guys are starting to have faith in each other. We have for years had + % in posetion, field position etc but we now seem to have guys that believe they can win.
The last 7-8 mins those guys tried their hardest which in the past we haven't seen.IMO
Well done guys some guts shown!
May the FORCE be with you!
Thought Hayward had a good game against his old side. Agree that the second row is really weakening us, might have to go back to McCalman in lock when fit.
Still not sure what the point of starting Mafi on the bench was.
