I don't like it because the main reason for the comp's revival is to help make our developing players ready for Super Rugby. So what's the bloody point of getting them to play some "Rugby Lite" version? If you want to see how to f@ck a game by knee-jerk law variations or variations in interpretation, just look at what has become of Rugby League. They piss around like that on an almost weekly basis.
They can do as they please in ZA. Doesn't make it right for us.

True that.

Yet there is no problem taking players from sevens and League and throwing them into a starting team? That is done regularly, yet would a far bigger change in laws and game style. The biggest point of the comp for mine is to identify talent for a contract and further development under the SR umbrella; I can't see anyone being spotted direct from the NRC and walking directly into a SR line-up. But what will get the SR development players ready for the starting team is the team's programs...for the players it is just a chance to play higher level than club alongside some first team players, develop understandings, etc. It is not like they are playing Gaelic Football instead.

"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now if you know what you’re worth then go out and get what you’re worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain’t you! You’re better than that!" - Rocky Balboa
