I've just logged on to check TWF and can't believe this...
I had a good chat and a laugh with Normie this past Tuesday like many of us here at the POTY awards.
So terrible that he has been taken from his family.
A good bloke.
RIP Normie.

I'm so sad and sorry to hear this.
There are no words ...
Very sad news. My thoughts & condolences to his family as well as to the wider TWF family he became part of. His insightful posts will be missed.
RIP.
this makes me sad. I am glad a little bit of Normie will live forever in the archives of TWF.
RIP Bud,
Was shocked to read this, I had read the report in the paper this morning and thought that it was a tragic loss of life but I didn't realise it was Normie. So sad. I hope you're OK Alison
I think alison is doing it a bit tough ATM
thoughts are with you
I've just put a notice in Monday's West on behalf of us all, hopefully I've captured our mutual feelings and have tried to stay true to Normie's nature.

Dear Lord, if you give us back Johnny Cash, we'll give you Justin Bieber.
Chatting with Coach earlier and I suggested that, with a little tweeking, Normie's last post with us seemed to sum him up pretty well in (almost) his own words:
That bloke was fair dinkum impressive. The vibe was positive.
Thank your mother for the rabbits- dead set.
"Bloody oath we did!"

I never had the pleasure of meeting Normie but I would like to give my condolences to his friends and family for their loss.
I would also like to remember not only their loss but his. Missing out on watching his children become adults, from what I understand from reading on the forum he was making a new beginning in some parts of his life as others had come to an end. There should still be so much more that this world has to offer him.
Wish you were still with us mate.
Thanks for your thoughts PerthGirl and Gunny. I am in pieces.
I had been chatting with Normie on here quite a bit over the past few weeks and we had become friends. I only met him for the first time at the POTY awards last Tuesday. We got on like a house on fire and I liked him even more in person than on here. He was quite the nicest, funniest and most genuine man I think I have ever had the privilege to get to know. Self-effacing, polite and generous to a fault.
We were pretty much the last two left in the pub and thought we'd better make tracks when we realised all the furniture in the pub had been stacked up ready for closing time!
We arranged to go out on NYE to see the new year in together. He was also coming down to Manduah for the Force game, and to the Cat Empire gig in March with me and Bison. When he saw me to my taxi after we left JBs, 2013 was looking like being a good year all round. I was so happy.
He gave me his POTY raffle prizes to look after for him temporarily as he didn't want to go back home on the train with them. I was going to let him have them back the next time we met.
Fate though had other ideas and within 48 hours he was snatched from us all forever. His raffle prizes are still sitting on my dining room table.
I cannot begin to imagine how his daughters and family must be feeling. Only last weekend he was the life and soul of the party at his cousin's wedding down in Dunsborough. He will leave a huge hole in many people's lives. Of that I have absolutely no doubt.
Rest in peace sweet Normie. I'll pour a glass of champagne for you on NYE. xx

Words fail. So sorry Alison.
I have an idea - and please bare with me - I dont know if I can get the words right.
Above all else I mean no disrespect.
The InnFORCErs tour too Mandurah perhaps the tour could be "For Normie".
It is likely that this is the next opportunity for the TWF Family to get together. Perhaps collectively the Tour members could wear black armbands as a mark of respect, and to show the world we remember our friend. It also gives the TWF Family an opportunity perhaps to raise some money to help support Normie's Family when they will be needing it most.
This is just a thought and I mean no disrespect.

"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now if you know what you’re worth then go out and get what you’re worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain’t you! You’re better than that!" - Rocky Balboa
So very, very sad. Rest in Peace Normie.
I know its only a small gesture but can we perhaps rename the members bar on TWF The Normie Memorial Bar?

RIP Normie! I had no idea Normie and the guy senselessly taken in Byford was the same person until speaking with TIF tonight at JBs! I'm lost for words! Alison my thoughts are with you honey! Hang in there!
