The biggest factor is the SANZAR agreement to field 5 teams; so the Brumbies will never fold, just some kind of ARU metamorphism into the Canberra Concords, a new franchise with a new CEO and perhaps a new coach in Michael Foley.
Bernie would walk away to somewhere quiet after that pantomime ... westward.
In defence of Michael Foley- Stephen Larkham has a backline with Lealiifano, Toomua and Kuridrani plus a pack with a host of top players are they still look unimpressive. They were pretty shithouse against the Highlanders.

Brumbies chairman Robert Kennedy is adamant the Super Rugby club will remain financially viable despite the payout agreed for departed CEO Michael Jones.
The Brumbies also face hefty legal costs following the ACT Supreme court case which Jones brought after initially being stood down by the board.
Jones left on Monday after reaching a settlement with the club.
Kennedy said on Tuesday that details of the settlement - and the reasons behind it - were confidential but added Brumbies did not require additional funds from the Australian Rugby Union.
He said the Brumbies would now embark on an extensive search for a new CEO.
