the more i think about it the more im convincing myself its not necessarily the Game plans that are hurting us but a slightly different mandate that JM introduced and Graham has manifested... i call it "low risk rugby"
Play in a very structured format. eg: 10 gets ball in 22 - kick for touch or downfield, 10 gets ball in own half - distribute unless defence up quick in which case kick for corners or bomb it... I see no lateral thinking.. people panned Giteau for running sideways but I can say that what he did do was create uncertainty and THAT is what we need in this team... have the opposition wondering what we might to next, we are too predictable to set in our structured playing style to engage the fans and maybe start scoring tries...
the Kiwi teams have embraced this in recent years and so now have the Reds and even the Wallabies.
the Force have Smith, JOC, Sheperd, Cullett and Ripia, all have the ability to carve up defences.. but they are all so worried about sticking to "the structure" that its stifling their games.
