Yeah! Use it to buy us all a chainsaw so we can 'assist' in the 're-modelling' of Subi. Then use the left over to pay us for the labour.

we could use the money to form a party, win government then make playing AFL a criminal offence punishable by 100 hrs slave labour on the new rectangular stadium ....

    Well that woke everyone up

The trouble with this whole, I don't care so long as it's "square" (it rhymed ok ) mentality is everyone seems to think they will get one of the very limited sideline (ie current Diamond and Gold) seats and it just won't happen.
Unless you are currently a Diamond Member you can kiss goodbye to anything but arse end and nose bleed views.
    You want corners?
Well I hope so because at MES that is what you will be looking at!

While in the UK I went and watched Worcester play Bath at Six Ways.
It was awesome, you could see everyone, walk around and had a great atmosphere.
Unfortunately it can only fit 10k in to enjoy that experience and there is a three year "who you know not what you know" waiting list but hey, at least they have corners!

Now, I don't have the '08 figures (and would appreciate them from anyone so I can keep my tally current) but I suspect things will have dropped again however, everyone states that they are not renewing because of the stadium.
Therefore you would assume with an improved venue they will return?
That said I would think it is pretty safe to use foundation figures as a baseline for say 2011 crowds in a new venue.
So, from 2011, on the back of another World Cup (win?) exposure and you would hope at least one season of Force Finals exposure or promise, we will be growing from around the 29,000/match if there is room.

And the points about the corporate element are entirely correct, they are the only ones that would benefit from a move to MES in terms of viewing, those who win the ticket ballot that is!

MES would bonsai Rugby in this state, when you transplant a seedling you don't put it in a smaller pot!

It is maybe a bit off to the side, but what is Keith Frame Park used for now? The location is good - close to the freeway, train line, town and Leederville...

Either way is a risk - we go to a poorly or minimally upgraded MES, the corporates abandon the team because of the crap facilities, Fox complains about the rubbish broadcasting facilities, the ARU notes that the field does not in fact conform with their requirements and Melbourne swoops in offering a shiny new stadium. Which would be worse for WA rugby?
