Yeah, I noticed that a few weeks ago too. Someone said something on here about the Sunday game and was asking whether the monday was a public holiday.
I'd just assumed it was a sunday because the Crusaders were going to play the Stormers at Twickenham the week before and it gives a little more recovery time. Its interesting the West article mentions less time after the game where we are coming back from a 3 week SA tour- I'd be nice to have a bit more rest after that. I hate afternoon games though they are harder to watch because of the shadow lines and I don't think Australian rugby teams do so well in the afternoon particularly not when its really hot.
The time on my calender is 5pm kickoff?????? Must be new one coming out?
BLACK IS THICKER THAN BLOOD
I thought I'd heard that Judd was hoping to be playing in round 1 or 2 of the AFL season not the NAB Cup.

Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.
we got screwed over, how can you book a stadium on the possibility of a game.........
All the more reason to let the WAFC and AFL sit and rot at Subi Oval until the stands fall down around them, then they will be sorry they didn't jump into bed with the pollies earlier.....save ya big $$$ for hospital (or what ever else the voters want/need) and give us a multi purpose rectangular ground NOW.

Education is Important, but Rugby is Importanter!
i said it before, but this is a load of shit.
the WA teams are not going to get a home final in the NAB cup. the AFL will do everything it takes to ensure that as many games as possible are played in victoria.
the force fixtures were out before the AFL ones, so i would only assume that we had already booked the ground for that day.
if thats the case could there be grounds for a legal challenge to the AFL, who from what i have been reading have come in and kicked us out of our booking because they want a prime time spot for national broadcast?
if thats the case the AFL is being extremley unprofessional and this will hurt their efforts to get the (stupid) game established in other countries, espicaly if they stary building their own stadiums.
I love it....Don't get me wrong, i love my AFL but this is ridiculous!!
The AFL has booted the Western Force out of Subiaco Oval on their biggest night of the Super 14 rugby season to reserve the ground for an event which probably won’t happen.....
.....to clear the ground for the possible staging of football’s pre-season NAB Cup final, a game never held in Perth in the 20 years of the AFL pre-season premiership.....
.....“We’re all in the professional sports business and we know what’s at stake,” Stooke said. “Rugby WA were happy to co-operate regarding Judd’s return but the AFL just weren’t interested in helping us for our biggest game of the year.......
....However, both the Force and Crusaders will be hostage to the weather. If it is a scorcher, the game will have to be interrupted for hydration breaks and recovery will be harder, particularly as both sides will have one day less to recuperate — in the Force’s case for a game against the Hurricanes in Wellington.
....“I can only hope there’s a sea breeze that day,” said Stooke, who revealed the game would probably start at 2pm rather than the Australian Rugby Union’s suggestion of 5pm.....
....“If it’s going to be hot, it’ll be hot,” he said. “Three hours when we’re on daylight saving won’t make much difference.”
March the 12th - yes it will be a tad toasty - and 1 half of the ground will be bathed in natural curtain fading sunlight - get your tickets early for the shady side of the ground.
As for the Football Commission - we always knew what they were like - total ******* ******s - and unbuisness like as well fancy missing out on an additional 5,000 entry tickets - who are they running this stadium for anyways
61 years between Grand SlamsWas the wait worth it - Ya betta baby
Right, thats it.
Gloves off everyone - start writing hard copy letters to each pollie (federal and state) in your electorates.
Emails are lazy and don't get genuine consideration.
Keep writing untill you get a written reply from the minister, and your local rep.

As far as I can see, the WACA is not being used around that date - with plenty of time to prepare, I wonder if they could put up temporary seating adequate for the occasion and the WAFL can go whistle for the ground rental/concession revenue from the biggest game of the season.
