FORCE TO FACE PAMPAS XV AT NIB STADIUM
The Western Force will now complete their pre-season preparations against the Pampas XV at ‘The Force Field’ (nib Stadium) on Friday, 14 February.
The final pre-season match will provide the Western Australian club with its first opportunity to play on the renovated surface at their home venue.
The match against the Argentinian side was initially scheduled for Arena Joondalup, however, has relocated to accommodate the Big Day Out and NAB Cup fixtures.
The Force will kick off their pre-season fixtures against Samoa A in Rockingham on Friday, 7 February.
Tickets for that match are now available through Ticketmaster (www.ticketmaster.com.au).
Tickets for the match against Pampas XV will be available for pre-purchase next week through Ticketmaster (www.ticketmaster.com.au).
Tickets will also be available at the respective venues on the day of each match (subject to availability).
RugbyWA CEO Mark Sinderberry says the matches will whet the appetite of the Force’s supporter base, the Sea of Blue, ahead of the club’s Super Rugby season opener against the NSW Waratahs in Sydney on Sunday, 23 February.
"We’re very proud to have the opportunity to run both pre-season matches in front of our incredible Sea of Blue in Perth,” he said.
“We’re very pleased to be able to stage a regional pre-season match in Rockingham and we know there is fantastic support for rugby in the area.
“We’re also excited about providing our supporters with their chance to see our team in action at their home ground prior to the beginning of the season.”

Excellent - will try and make it down for both at NIB; might be able to drag some others down.
Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
2 for me as well thanks
This change of venue needs some explaining. A glib "the venue has been changed" notification is not good enough.
One assumes it was to be played at Joondalup to give that club a financial boost, or at least the opportunity for one. Fair enough. It certainly wasn't at Joondalup for the benefit or convenience of the grass root supporters, with most of them having to travel inconvenient distances to attend.
One also assumes Joondalup have counted on the budgeted windfall to contribute substantially towards their increased operating expenses this season, not least towards their massive player payment commitments.
So why suddenly change the rules? Accomodating AFL or Big Day out or some such nonsense doesn't wash. Surely Joondalup Arena was pre booked before the initial venue announcement was made. If a change had to be negotiated to accomodate others RugbyWA would have been entitled to significant compensation or damages.
Alternatively, have RugbyWA suddenly and belatedly realised there is a quid to be made for them by holding it at NIB, due to interest in the game, and just unilaterally cut Joondalup loose? Certainly they have some form there, in ignoring the rights of, and their obligations to clubs.
Or has there been some secret deal cut between Joondalup and RugbyWA? It might seem a tad conspiratorial, but where is Dr C in all this? If this had been done to my club I'd be squealing from the roof tops, not deathly silent.
Come on, out with it.
By the way, the change of venue might now see me attending.
Rumour has it Rugby WA has reduced their fees 50% for this season and will give them 2 Force players for the season, due to lost funds and inconvenience
