So the rebels squad now numbers 45 ... check out their players page and see all the silhouettes to be filled with pix when they get there, but 45 means absolutely no development of youngsters in Victoria.
So with nowhere to go for the youth of the game outside of the original three; Bumbles, Bleedin' Reds and Head Office, any newcomers will go into their squads and the pantomime continues ...
"The whole point of rugby is that it is, first and foremost, a state of mind, a spirit." - Jean-Pierre Rives
It’s all such utter f*ckery!!!!
Proudly Western Australian; Proudly supporting Western Australian rugby
So I wonder what happens when IPRC kicks off in Feb 2019. Dave Wessels said he had a clause in his Rebels contract, that he could coach the Force in IPRC, as do I imagine many of the players. At the time everyone assumed that Super and IPRC would not overlap and maybe the contracts are not tight enough to lock them to Rebels now that the comps will overlap. The RA have also committed to pick players from Force in IPRC for Wallabies.
Is it possible that in 2019 the Rebels will have no ex-Force coaches or ex-Force players in 2019? If not in 2019, by 2020 there could be a big exodus from the Rebels.
Hate to admiit it but it's going to be a big ask not to watch those boys next year. And hard not to wish them well. Almost to a man they stuck with WA, until there was no choice
"The main difference between playing League and Union is that now I get my hangovers on Monday instead of Sunday - Tom David
I will always support Wessels and coach team, and the players. They gave us everything they had all season and then more till after the last gasp.
It Will be hilarious when Ruru starts with Stirzacker on the bench, Sanchez left out until he learns the team song
Of course Clown picked Sanchez and Phipps when neither was starting lol look how that turned out.
The long sobs of autumn's violins wound my heart with a monotonous languor
The ARU are spiralling downhill & the ongoing dirty deals shown up, perhaps the Rebels will have a very short lifespan, and the boys can ALL come back!
Koteka and Cottrell now training with the Rabble. This is beyond a joke now. The Rabble have enough players to fill two AFL squads.
Someone on G&G said that Jooste may be off to the Reds.
