Andy, I've never watched rugby at the WACA only cricket and can only speculate that it would be a painful affair (poor vision from the shape of the wide oval, wide-sloping stands, etc). Probably best to put our tails between the legs and make do with the Sunday 40C afternoon game. The bars at Subi will make a killing.
Me either, but I was thinking more that with temporary seating there is the room to make a rectangular ground within the area of a cricket ground. Corporates might have to suck up being at the end of the ground, but this is much less of a problem if the ground is rectangular.
However, main thoughts were that it would send a useful message to the WAFL and may test their resolve if they were giving away half a million $ plus for a contingency that is unlikely to occur.
pity the WACA only holds 20K or so....
Dear Lord, if you give us back Johnny Cash, we'll give you Justin Bieber.

I think civil war is the only war we are going to get what we want!
Who's with me?
I busy in the morning, how about declaring war on Australia about lunch time?
Does anybody have a tank or flame thrower?![]()
Brother Gallagher I hear you
I watched a few Reds games there back in the day and I actually like the idea, not ideal, but neither is Subi, temp stands would make it slightly better seating and viewing 20,000 -25,000 I'm sure will be plenty if it is a sold out affair, encourage memberships not walk ups, piss the WAFC off......only negative, it's to far from!!!

Which is why the AFL chose the Friday for Judd's return? I think you're reaching, especially for an afternoon kick-off where the whole SE corner will be looking at the setting sun.a bigger crowd expected on Saturday matches...........
yes, and it appears they even said thank you.
this should have caused much bigger ripples than it did...
