Yeah absolute bollocks...
But I think if you just changed the tune that it goes to then it would be fine.
The National Anthem sounds awesome to the tune of gilligans island, so I am sure we can work something out...
But who thought that was appropriate for a rugby team? Marketers dropping the ball again me thinks!

Incompetent isn't the right word... But its the first one that comes to mind.

from all acounts it was the players themselves who had input into tune and lyrics????
Then that was a mistake by marketing wasn't it. Since when do you trust the players to do that...
Their rugby players not bloody musicians, or marketing geniuses...
Get the professionals in to help them out... And the last thing this team needed was a song penned by a bloke from a band named after a turd cutter!

I was wondering if anyone at RugbyWA had pondered their association with a band named Chocolate Starfish ....
Dear Lord, if you give us back Johnny Cash, we'll give you Justin Bieber.
Whatch the making of the song video - all good stuff
PS I really hope Cross gets across the line on more than one occassion

I think it is yet another example of what a crap name The Western Force is, left them with absolutely none of the normal reference points to build a decent bit of work around.
When you read it it's even worse, Year 5 rhyming at best. The West reckons it was mainly written by the mucky date man and then colaborated type thing I recall?
No accounting for taste I guess....
Advance Australia Fare also sounds great to Barnsey's "Working Class Man" Rodent. And agree re marketers, they are running at about zero from five I reckon![]()

Something a little more rock like would have been better; but I don't mind it and will sure as hell be singing it loud and proud.

QR Qld Reds’ new anthem captures the spirit of rugby

Vodafone Australia and the QR Queensland Reds today launched their new team anthem, written and recorded by the players themselves.
To help the players unleash their musical creativity, Vodafone brought on board acclaimed singer songwriter and former Chocolate Starfish front man Adam Thompson, The rugby anthem writing "guru" to assist the team through the process of writing and recording the song.
“The Reds spent a lot of time in the studio developing their own lyrics to make sure the war cry would resonate strongly with the team and their supporters," Thompson said.
"We’re all really pleased with the end result – it’s testament to the time and effort the whole team invested in this project.
“Although it may come as a surprise to some, the creativity and singing talent of some of these boys was incredible.
“Music is a powerful motivational tool and I have no doubt that Reds supporters will embrace the new war cry and spur the boys on to a few wins!”
The anthem was given its first public outing today in Brisbane's Queen St Mall by Reds' captain John Roe, centre Ben Tune, winger Peter Hynes and flyhalf Berrick Barnes, mercifully backed by the Vodafone choir.
Tune said the players enjoyed being involved in the process of producing the song.
"It was awesome that all the boys could be involved in producing a team song that sums up our determination to be the best. We had a great time coming up with some killer lyricsand we hope our fans love the anthem as much as we do."
Cameron Levick General Manager of Vodafone Queensland and the Northern Territory said: “We’re extremely proud to have played a part in creating this piece of rugby history and can’t wait to see the Reds fans really embrace their new anthem.
“Through our sponsorship of the Queensland Reds, we are able to give rugby fans the opportunity to be more involved in their favourite game than ever before. We look forward to seeing Reds fans get behind their team this season and maybe even power them across the line to victory with this passionate war cry,” Cameron said.
Thanks to ‘Super TV’ on Vodafone live! with 3G, fans get to go into the recording studio and catch behind the scenes footage of their favourite Reds superstars recording their team anthem. This exclusive made-for-
mobile content offers a free three minute ‘mobisode’ of the journey the team took from brainstorming lyrics, to trying to sing in tune and putting the finishing touches to the song. In addition, fans can download the war cry as a full music track or ringtone, so they can relive the passion again and again.
The lyrics are:
Verse 1:
Here we come
We must stand as one
Side by side
This is Queensland pride
One and all
Can you hear the call?
Pre chorus: Come on, come on, come on
Chorus: Reds
The Cauldron of our fire
Can only lift us higher
Our journey’s just begun
Come on everyone
Reds
With thunder in our hearts
We’ll rip this game apart
It’s burning deep inside
Lift your colours high
Reds
Verse 2:
Standing proud
Won’t you shout it out
Red of heart
Makes us who we are
All for one
‘Til it’s said and done
Pre Chorus REPEAT
Chorus REPEAT
"Bloody oath we did!"

WTF? former Chocolate Starfish front man Adam Thompson, must be laughing all the way to the bank!!!
Dear Lord, if you give us back Johnny Cash, we'll give you Justin Bieber.
Western Force is a great name! The song will be great if we all sing it loud and proud! Where is your team spirit?!?!?! This is our time standing together!!!

I have just added the song to my iPod

"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now if you know what you’re worth then go out and get what you’re worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain’t you! You’re better than that!" - Rocky Balboa
Where did you download it!!! Rugbywa aint working for me...

Bugger off Shaun, can hardly question my team spirit, just about get up at 4am to drive further than you travel in a year for one bloody match.
The fact is it is a crap song that is being pressed upon us by marketing "experts".
The team said themselves it "wasn't quite what they expected".
Gunna go down like a Zeppelin at Subiaco because they have tried to be too show biz with it.
It's a marketing backing track, not a Club victory song.
Australians find it hard enough to sing half their National Anthem let alone a pop song like this!
