Someone smarter than me[daughter not home to do it]should post up the latest on ESPN regarding ARU levy and the NSW Subbies reaction. Interesting times ahead. If they aren't paying it then everyone else will follow suit.
Wests Scarborough 1st Grade juggernaut has played finals rugby each and every year since its inception and continues this remarkable feat yet again this season and unbelievably it's still rolling on and as an added little circle jerk for the masses Wests actually hold the record for the current longest unbroken finals record.
Bloody funny given that if anyone will benefit from it, they will. The levy is basically so they can continue to pour money into NSW and Q'ld despite falling revenues - it is not like they give much to anyone else.
The beneficaries have been the Shute Shield clubs (and to a lesser extent the other Premier Club comps).
The Subbies don't come under that umbrella.
God no but never let the truth get in the way of a joke.

"all levies are collected and redistributed by the states — grassroots groups in NSW remain concerned their money may be siphoned off to fund Shute Shield clubs.
Premier Rugby funding was also cut by the ARU, and there are rumours Shute Shield clubs have been told by NSWRU $470,000 in funding will be “ringfenced” for them. Given they’ll only generate $100,000 from their own levies, assurances are wanted that the juniors’ pot of $250,000 and Subbies’ $200,000 won’t be raided."
Well there's your problem!
I don't think disaffiliating from the ARU would help. Removing the juniors from NSWRU might though.

Or worse still, WA, I thought I read that we even got less that NT from ARU this year
