I actually like the blue shorts - it's not like we have to wear them.

    Bankwest upgrades apparel partnership

    By RugbyWA Media

Proud Emirates Western Force partner Bankwest has, for the second time in as many seasons, upgraded its commitment and will now feature on the back of the club’s apparel in 2012.

The leading West Australian based financial services provider became the ‘Happy Grassroots’ partner of rugby in 2010 and invested further in the code in 2011 when they took on apparel branding on the club’s playing shorts. The new deal will see Bankwest grow their presence on the ‘kit’ with the logo to feature prominently on the back of the jersey.

Bankwest is in the second year of a three year agreement with RugbyWA and the Emirates Western Force.

"Bankwest is very excited to continue its support for this fantastic West Australian club. We are upgrading our commitment to become a prominent apparel partner on the Emirates Western Force jersey for the 2012 season," said Paul Vivian, Head of Marketing - Bankwest Retail.

"Bankwest has a long standing commitment to Western Australia and this sponsorship is another milestone for the bank as it continues to grow its presence across the state and deepens its involvement in the WA community."

Not only does Bankwest provide for the elite programme, their support of the RugbyWA Academy ensures talented locals have the opportunity to accelerate their development and strive to be part of the next generation of West Australian Super Rugby players.

Activations supported by Bankwest at grassroots level also saw excellent growth in participation with a hike of 10% in 2011 seeing more than 3700 junior players regularly being active and healthy in rugby. Bankwest provided every junior player with a pair of playing shorts in the 2011 season as well as key match infrastructure including goal post pads and corner flags.

Additionally, another 25,000 school children took part in rugby activities across the state as the code’s footprint continued to grow thanks to innovative partnerships including Bankwest.

RugbyWA CEO Vern Reid said Bankwest was having a significant impact on rugby in Western Australia and their innovation and passion had delivered exciting results.

“Bankwest has been extremely proactive in taking opportunities to leverage their partnership and derive real outcomes for the benefit of rugby and its supporters in Western Australia and we’re delighted to have the Bankwest logo feature prominently on the back of the playing jersey,” Mr Reid said.

“Bankwest’s support ranges across all levels of rugby. Whether you’re a kid playing for the under 8’s in the Bankwest Junior competition, an 18 year old in the Bankwest Academy or a professional player wearing a jersey with Bankwest branding, they’re a partner that’s with you each step of the way.”

Bankwest joins a loyal group of partners who will feature on the club’s apparel in 2012 alongside inaugural front of jersey and naming partner Emirates as well as ET Mining, Fugro-TSM and newly acquired shorts partner McDonald’s.

Well the good news is that if Nick Cummins doesn't make it is a rugby player he has male modelling to fall back on.

Jersey look alright. Looks a bit like they are following in the footsteps of the all red Reds. Might have to wait till we see the whole team out there to make a call on that one.

not too sure about the blue shorts, although i knew it was coming. socks look absolutely god-awful...I dont know people think that that would look good.

I really like the away jersey though, and overall I like the home jersey.
