I don't know where they were getting the information from that the Brumbies were approaching insolvency.

Read item 6.4
I cant see how any of that could have meant culling the Force. What a fucking load of bollocks.
The criteria for culling a team would be assessed based on:
Costs
Debt ratings
Sports fans in market
Membership yield
Government support
Governance issues
Competition performance
Strength of performance program
Wallaby contribution
Participation outcomes
Status of economy
And other matters
How the fuck did Melbourne beat us based on the above

Government support especially as the RA have underfunded WA Rugby to go to the grassroots so they have stepped in along with Twiggy. The ACT Government have also upped their funding towards the Brumbies and the new Academy is linked to the University of Canberra.
Didn't Hansie say that they were looking for a smoking gun from around August time last year?

Is it just me or does Appendix 1 make it look like ARU was going to take control of the Brumbies like they did the Force from 2017 onwards?

A strategic alliance was proposed without the sale of the IP then they scrapped the idea as Brumbies' books were better than they expected.

NOT ONE mention of the Melbourne Rebels or Waratah's. Some fluff at the start about the Reds.
NOT ONE mention of the HUGE drain and strain the MRRU has been on the ARU, just some piss weak forward projects.
Well they got the Brumbies wrong, they were the only club to post a profit this year.
This was a very specific and targeted/biased report.
Penny has dropped. This is a leaked copy of THE board report that formed part of someone's submission to the Senate.
OK, just to be a stickler on timings....
Board Meeting at ARU headquarters 18 Aug 16 started at 0745 and concluded at 1145. A lot was talked about in 4 hours, but the topic's and minutes do not reflect that.
Within that board meeting they set a date for the next board meeting (27th Oct 16) where Clark and French were to present the recommended team to Cull.
Why did the Chairman (redacted signature but assume Clyne) sign off on the August board meeting as being a true record on the 12th of DECEMBER 2016?
And still nothing in the media about the disgrace that this is. 😟
I sent a tweet to Wayne Smith at the Oz yesterday morning asking him if the reason why he and his east coast colleagues had not yet written a word about the outcome of the Senate Inquiry was because they are waiting for the recommendations to be implemented and for results of the ASIC investigation. Needless to say, I received no reply.
They have all either been bought off by the ARU and its heavies, or threatened with the loss of their media access.
Proudly Western Australian; Proudly supporting Western Australian rugby
I take it the blacked out bits are votes, objections raised, further topics and documentation.
Of course de Clyne would do that as he could play dumb and say there was no meeting in August where this was discussed. The Sanzaar meetings were just after the RA meeting in August. How could the RA tell Sanzaar who are based in their own jurisdiction (I also find the items relating to Sanzaar's office on the RA financial reports rather interesting) that the board agreed to cull a team when there is no signed record of that meeting leading in to the ex com?
I also don't know how Japan could recommend a cull in teams when they are not a member of Sanzaar.

That doesn't stop Nick Taylor from posting it as his news seems to spread even though it is published in The West Australian. I wouldn't bother with Alan Jones the man said himself that he is finishing for the year next Tuesday so he won't take anymore corrie past tomorrow.
When does Oliver Peterson finish for the year?

Earlier today I opened the file and the file did not have the blacked out bits, but now that I am home, I cant seem to open it without the blacked out bits - redacted bits . They related to the ARU Partner Survey and Women's sevens - there wasn't anything of interest (to me/us) there
The truth may set you free, but only evidence convicts
Thanks Lou, doubt that it was four hours of spirited discussion about Partner Surveys and Women's 7.
