Maybe we should ask Van Straaten or Wilkinson if they fancy a a paid holiday in Perth.

    Our kicking is shocking

Id back both Sias and Zack at 10.
Team just has to pull tighter again.
    It's all there.

Have to disagree with you there. Neither of them consistently display the fundamental facets a good 10 require. They both maybe have one or two great games a year. Look at Foley & Toomua. Only one or two bad games a year.

Poor decision making and poor kicking are killing us

There isn't a lot in the cupboard though Dom. About the only option left in the squad is Burto, and he's only just found his feet.

Perhaps move the entire backline in one and use Mitch Scott on Brache's wing, but I wouldnt guarantee burto is a better option than what were already going with and he did play well at 12.

Poor Burto, did you see how much his hands were shaking when taking the last conversion?

They already do use Van Straaten. Oh yes, they also use Nestor don't they. I rest my case.

I'm not sure why he tried a couple of drop goals last night either. Was that his rugby brain or part of the game plan I wonder?

Sias isn't playing nearly as bad as is being made out. Last year he was great, but so was the rest of the team. Should we sack them all? The more i read these threads the more i think I'm on the Tahs fan page. Very sad!

Maybe we should? The rhetoric is familiar each week now. With new faces we'll have to make up new ways to pretend our keyboards are tools to change the world. At least for a few weeks anyway

they went a bloody sight closer to winning than I thought would be the case, sure a few brain farts--but the same for the Bulls.
    could have gone either way

    Hmmm.

Perhaps i watched a different game to everone else, or i was mostly sober when returning to the keyboard.

    WHAT AN IMPROVEMENT THAT WAS

    wow!

    • No one out runners onto the ball. There was a bit of width and changing the angle of attack, it was mixed up a little bit, not the same repetative stuff that keeps our attack going backwards.
    • no friggen jigs when hitting the line form the centres. Burton was fantastic and Godwin found a bit of what we knew he has. Hard straight running, getting over the gain line or breaking it all together. C'mon - Godwin broke the line to score a try.
    • We have found a effective centre pairing!!! who will only get better with age
    • Defending with 2 in the bin, and only giving away a try, but also having a shot at the posts, sure we missed, but man that is no mean feet.
    • There was starch in our defence. We knocked a couple of blokes over, even though it eventually led to our downfall, it was great to see!
    • there was enterprising play, at one point about 5 offloads in a row!! Adam (MOTMFTF) was a machine!
    • there were players backing up, awaiting an offload, or ready to secure the ball
    • pretty damn good scrum. Did someone else mention Adam?
    • handling skills were pretty good considering we had so much of the ball

ok, so we lost by one point at the death, but we were 3 tries to 1!

    There were bad points -
    • little winger involvement,
    • some bad kicking decisions (interestingly, Sias horrible drop goal attempt wasn't as bad an idea as everyone thinks, the resulting dropout left the force with the ball, in a similar situation, but with all the force behind the ball),
    • two yellows from defending a maul (and yet, they still attempted to jump in those lineouts, instead of being ready for the maul!)
    • Burto's place kicking - effectively we left 6 relatively easy points on the field, which could have cost us the win.

Get them blue goggles back on guys, we have improved dramatically, the last two weeks, and i reckon it'll tip to us next week.

    (How'd ya like that post G_Beard )
