Ainsley 2 ruck involvements in 31 minutes, surely that's wrong Andrew.
Wests Scarborough 1st Grade juggernaut has played finals rugby each and every year since its inception and continues this remarkable feat yet again this season and unbelievably it's still rolling on and as an added little circle jerk for the masses Wests actually hold the record for the current longest unbroken finals record.
He may have stood pillar in addition to these are actual contactwith rucks.
He may have even arrived after the ball had been passed on.
He does stand out and is usually more active than this but may be just a case of wrong-place-wrong time or defending where the Qld C were not.
PS. Have re-watched the 20 mins where I show he had no ruck contacts and can confirm that that is correct.
This is the period where Qld C were fighting back - and took their score from 0-22. (The period 74-83 min much the same.)
Ainsley was being used as a ball carrier (3), was involved in scrums (3) and lineouts (2) and even acted as S/H - but no rucks.
Qld C were focussed on the side channels and Ainsley was defending through the centre of the field.
When he was on last line of defence Qld C took the ball to the line where he wasn't.
As you can see from the numbers there were few rucks in the last 10 minutes and the Spirit was standing-off many of them.
The pace of the NRC, and particularly this game where both teams were running on the narrow side channels does not show Ainsley at his best.
