Not sure if you're bagging him there or not Rex. For the record, of those shortlisted so far, who IS your pick? I'd go for Johnston for the sake of his attacking game plans. Of tne ones mentioned in despatches I'd go for Louden.

They not only delight in the franchises underperformance but are actually looking forwards to its demise

The "powers that be" in Australian Rugby appear to have run up the white flag as far as rugby in WA is concerned, and IMO cannot wait for the demise of the Western Force franchise, so that either (a) the Force franchise is transferred to a mob in Queensland or NSW, or (b) the 15th team slot in the competition is handed to the Saffas to get them over their problem with the Eastern Cape and Australia goes back to 4 sustainable Super Rugby teams, or (c) a Japanese or Argentinian or South Pacific team fills the spare 15th slot and Australia goes back to 4 sustainable Super Rugby teams. In the case of (b) or (c), there perhaps could be some face-saving merger of the Force with the Rabble, whereby the merged Melbourne-WA team plays a "home" game or 2 in Perth each season.

And Rugby WA appear to have walked right into it.

If this eventuated I think I would burn every piece of Aus rugby merch I have and turn my back on the sport entirely. Out of spite for the ARU. They'd be stupid not to persevere with the 5 teams though and I think they will.
