Any of the effort indicators could be used for that.Things such as time between involvementsTackles vs misses (using the assumption that a missed tackle usually occurs when you haven't worked hard enough to get into position)I think NZ teams look at reset time as an indicator of a quality performance .

for me the desire is spot on.
Even my wife was saying that they looked low, no energy, when they were in the change rooms before the game, and running onto the field flat.
That mindset continued into the match. heads down, flat footed, low comms, low impact tackles.
It really did not seem like there was any desire.
With the stats that I have the closest that I could get to desire would be involvement.
For the Chiefs game I will look at adding tackles, carries, passes and offloads and weigh up against time on the field, and then we could assume that will be an indicative value for ball play involvement.
With a long weekend next week I hope to add it and keep it for next year.
Not scientific but may be a decent indicator, especially if I give slightly more weight to tackles and carries as they involve more effort.
Simon Cron: “People talk about winning and losing all the time and they are critical, but there’s a process to get into and it’s the ability to stay present, do your job and execute skills under pressure.”
Thanks again Tazz for the stats. Really appreciate it. After seeing the stats for a few games now i still need to ask the question why the 6 has nowhere near the amount workrate some of the other forwards has?
Is it because he has to be out on the wing to cover the defense for someone else who constantly is found out of position?
Is it because he may becoming to retirement age?
Genuine questions..
Wells 7 tackles as opposed to Hamish at 22 is unacceptable. Have also noticed Wells out on the wing a few times & thought it was a strategy to bolster attack out wide, but who knows? Again same ol’ between the ears problems, there must be some reason why players are not sticking to game plan or coaches instructions. Also over training being an issue?
