Agreed - he was devastated, but was gracious in defeat. You're right too, hopefully he is around for a few more innings yet and can continue to build the legacy he has started.
What he has achieved in just over 12m is nothing short of phenomenal. I was sceptical about his appointment but I'm happy to have been proven wrong.
This Ab's team for the last few years is the best anyone has ever seen. Not a lot of shame in the loss. With a bit less dropped ball the result might have been different should we have scored another try and lined up some drop goals.
That's sport though... It is what it is.
Wallabies can hold their heads high after that performance though, they gave the ABs a good run for their money. It'll be interesting to see how the ABs go over the next couple of years though, but I noticed McCaw still wouldn't confirm his retirement in the post match interview..?
A few comments about refs calls that went against the wallabies. What about foley being in front of genias kick that led to Kuridrani's try that was also missed.
It all evens up across the 80mins.
AB's too much class!
Certainly not as far in front as the forward pass that lead to the abs first try, and it isn't totally even when you consider the obstruction that lead to the second. If you want to debate the ref, I think the abs will lose that argument. But they had enough to not need him, which I was thankful for.

We came second, like a true gentleman.
overall, great tournament. Ask me 16 months ago how we would do in the World Cup, and Id avoid the question, ask me 8 weeks ago how we would go, and Id tell you we wouldnt make it out the pool, Quade would sink our boat (after being selected by the Wallabies power brokers) and the Poms would meet the Kiwis in the final.
Now look at us!
My only concern is that re-building starts again, with a few player flipping off the France etc... we're back to ground zero in some sense.
Only if they've played 60 Tests. (At this stage)
New Zealand are worse off aren't they?
or being signed to an Aussie club with the ARU buying out your contract and hit the RWC without playing club rugby in Oz.
Although, apart from Deam Mumm, each of the blokes who have come back from overseas has been worth the effort.
