Interesting that Ready is not listed as a hooker. To be honest, whilst he is not a flashy Hooker, he is consistently middle-upper, and is arguably better than Kaitu'u at the moment (is he suffering from COVID complications?). Solid throws, scrummager, pilferer, tackler and Mauler. I also think that his brain farts are better than they have been as well.
I just checked his contract expires this year, i guess is it not being renewed?
I actually think it is not a great time to axe him. He is journeyman level, and plays consistently well (when he doesn't punch someone in the face).
Good points. I have been a little confused with the Fa'ainga signing TBH. He's quality, but if it's just a year before he heads north, what value is that?? I have seen improvement in Ready too and it seems a mistake if he's been shown the door. It could see Winchester looking for the exit as well.
Wouldn't it be great?
Unfortunately, it looks like Tamaiti Williams wouldn't be eligible, unless there is an Aussie in his family somewhere. He may have lived in WA for over 10 years but residency has to be consecutive and leading up to selection. Pretty rough if you ask me, but going back to NZ may just have closed that door.
Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast.
My dream picks are for 2 players.
I don't know their names.
I do know that with the retirement of Jeremey Thrush and Richard Kahui I worry that our team next year will lack our on-field brain.
I genuinely believe that we were a better team when they were on the pitch. And that experience is valuable.
Finding a Forward and a Back with Test Match experience moving towards the end of their Professional career shouldn't be too hard to find. But they must have a RugbyIQ
Finding the 2 that are the right fit for us. That's a trickier proposition.
In Hodgo we trust.

I believe Dan Carter is a back who has test match experience and a reasonable rugby brain and is nearing the end of his career. I believe he could play 10 or 12 or 15 at a pinch.
Nick Cummins is also a back with test match experience, but he is limited by (a) only being able to ply one position, and (b) seems to have already ended his career.

I was considering the brief "Finding a Forward and a Back with Test Match experience moving towards the end of their Professional career shouldn't be too hard to find. But they must have a RugbyIQ" and have always been of the view that rugby wise players who stay behind whenhead off to camp or to play are a good thing.
