i reckon. why the hell would you go to a sporting match, and claim to be a 'fan' or 'member' if you have no idea what the f**k is going on, or you're just there for some free booze and a chance to get rowdy and disrupt everyone!

They don't get free booze i think, but a free ticket to sport would appeal to any bloke to head out, and theres plenty of pubs around subi. So go for a few beers before the game, then head to a free game of rugby.......................

It does to an extent. Like you said, if they dont have to pay for the ticket, they will pay for it in beer.

I assume that Rugby WA makes a fair amount of money out of the members tent. So if the Blue Crew meet at the members tent (which i assume they do because i've seen a fair amount of them in the pre-game) where Rugby WA make money out of liquor sales theres where Rugby WA make the money back on the free seats

I still reckon my "give something back to the community" idea was a ripper.....give the section to a rugby club, or a charity, or something worthwhile......brownie points for RugbyWA and at least the poeple getting the seats have a reason for getting them rather than just being a yobbo who's willing to call a phone number for a free night out!

GIGS I fully agree with you. In principle I think the Blue crew is a brilliant idea but like you say the screening prosess is wrong. A couple of questions that could be asked just to ensure that the guy or girl at least know what it is all about.

Things like:
Who is the captain of the Force
Do you know someone playing Rugby Union
How many points does the following represent, Try, Conversion, Drop goal, Penalty,
Who did you support before the Force was playing Super rugby
What is the name of the closest Rugby union Club to you

Just my 2 cents worth

1) It's the guy with the dreadlocks isn't it? Or is the black guy with the bald head?
2) A friend of a friend of my 3rd cousin knows Darren Lockeyer, he plays Union doesn't he?
3) You don't get any points for trying. Religion isn't a part of Rugby, so there are no conversions. They drop the goals after the games to put the footy goals back up, again no points. No points but they walk off fifty metres and then it is a free kick.
4) The Tahs of course....oh wait, I thought you asked what team you hate.
5) The closest club to me is Canadian Club!!!! nothing wrong with a bit of cc and coke.

Do you have to sign up somewhere and they draw names or do they just walk around the city handing them out on game days?

If you actually have to sign up maybe it is actually people who are interested in going but don't want to pay in case they don't like it...ie a lot of first timers. But if they are just handing them out to anyone walking by of course you are going to get people that have no interest and don't care but just like getting free stuff.

you sign up on rugbywa.com.au and then they just email you and u get a shirt and hat i think and the words to the cheers.
