New CEO...new position on a 24,000 seat stadium.
I do wonder how much credit the state government will give the Force, for previously rejecting the offer it gave them.
Anyhow, should be some additional information coming out into the future.

That's good news Egan, I hope it happens. I'm in the middle of writing a response to the Langoulant report from my (admittedly rather limited) understanding of it...I'd say that a 25000 seat redevelopment of ME is a minimum standars for the good of rugby in the state.
Do you know whether the Taskforce did any feasibility study on upgrading ME, or were the only options considered the construction of completely new rectangular stadia?
C'mon the
I have the report on my computer, havent read to much of it and will probably read it tomorow morning.
From what I remember reading in the papers at the time i think it was only looking at new stadia. I could be wrong though........
Yeah that's what it looks like to me, but Recommendation 3 suggests a minlr upgrade to MES to improve corporate facilities...It doesn't mention an upgrade to seating capacity. In the table presenting the options, the Multi Purpose stadium is ticked as a venue to host S14 games....I read that to mean that the Taskforce was suggesting the S14 matches should be played at the new oval, which is quite unacceptable in my opinion, and the reason this petition started in the first place!
C'mon the
Read my article, Bauchop was particularly critical of the estimated profits of MES delivered by the Taskforce, not using 'actual' figures.
Australian Stadiums :: Allia holding out hope for MES redevelopment
Hmmmm That's interesting, I thought the Taskforce's figures were for a brand new stadium.....I guess if they didn't consider the upgrade of an existing stadium, that would explain the difference in figures! Why would they have not considered it? I can think of only two reasons.......Number 1, MES conflicts with other terms of reference that were part of the study (all that crap about the 'total experience') or 2 they did figures and didn't want to publish them because they weakened the argument for a multi-purpose stadium........am I too cynical here?
C'mon the
They looked at all options including increasing the capacity of Members Equity Stadium. It is why all discussions with the Government and Force where delayed until the Taskforce report. After the O'Meara led Force, rejected the offer of the 24,000 seat stadium (at the time had 22,000 Force members).
Unfortunately O'Meara put blinded faith against a government that hates spending money on stadiums.
