All fun aside how do WARU intend to fix the dramatic drop in junior regos this season.The facts please not fudged up figures.I read here not long ago about an increase in numbers well that has been proven to be bullshit.Can someone shed light on what steps are being undertaken to reverse this trend and why were we told incorrect information

I know for a fact that there has been a lot of work being done by the WARL in regards to promoting the West Coast Pirates, and this has resulted in a number of quality younger players changing codes this season.

Talking to a U14 club coach today, he told me they've lost 12 lads from last season, who have gone to various other sports and interests, including league and footy..not sure about the league, but as a father of two 6 year olds, and an ex rugby union player and current rugby tragic, it becomes more and more obvious how well placed footy is in Perth / WA to attract and retain kids. It's an uphill slog, and something TWF will continue to battle with (not losing people to footy, but becoming a recognised rugby state). I may also be being pessimistic following recent TWF performances.

What would be good is for all of us on this site with young girls and boys at school, just start letting other parents and school teachers know that girls and boys 7 a-side is an Olympic Sport.

Olympic aspirations for young athletes in Australia is about as popular as Footy in this state. Olympics can push AFL off the back page. Rugby Union will never dent AFL in WA, but 7 - a side may be a good intro, it's a new avenue to explore and just an idea.

My policy in relation to you was to ignore all your posts, but since your recent return your posts have been pretty reasonable, thought provoking and have avoided personal slanging for the most part.
FYI. I have no formal role in Rugby administration either at club or state level. I have done my bit in the past and I am done with it. I am too old to have the patience to deal with some of the dickheads who are out there.... like self interested players with their hands out.
As for Rocky or the Force nothing I say or do will have any impact on what happens to them.

I have heard that Joondalup are the only club who's numbers have risen out of the whole junior comp.I noticed a new division in the elevens for clubs with only one team pretty sad as in the past every club still had a couple of teams at this age.
