Wests Scarborough 1st Grade juggernaut has played finals rugby each and every year since its inception and continues this remarkable feat yet again this season and unbelievably it's still rolling on and as an added little circle jerk for the masses Wests actually hold the record for the current longest unbroken finals record.

Is this the Mike Brewer you mean?

Charlie Hodgson gives damning review of life under former Sale coach Mike Brewer
Charlie Hodgson, who ended months of speculation earlier this week by confirming his move to Saracens next season, has slammed the management methods of Mike Brewer, the Sale coach who was sacked last month.

Hodgson’s most cutting comments came when comparing the new regime, under Peter Anglesea, with that of former All Black Brewer. “The squad is no different – it’s just a change of mentality,” said Hodgson, who has played for Sale throughout his senior career. “The environment is a much more enjoyable place to be. People don’t get abused every day, they don’t get kicked in the back every day and it’s a nice place to come to work.
“Beforehand, a big part of the squad were not happy. The fact that Brian Kennedy has made his decision has uplifted the place.
“The fact that Pete is now in charge has changed the environment. He’s a positive guy, he’s enthusiastic and he wants his players to do well.”
Hodgson, who was yesterday added to the England squad for the Six Nations. also admitted he might have had a rethink about his future had Anglesea headed up the coaching team from the start of this season.
“I know there was a lot of speculation about myself and Mike Brewer, and I want to put the record straight that regardless of what was said, there was no massive argument with Mike Brewer. Having stated what he did in the press when he criticised me after the Wasps game, that was it. Job done.

A lot of the Web chatter has our former and current half coach of Reds as the frontrunner for their gig. Final decision expected to be announced very soon. Seems the ARU want the local product to be in charge. Might need to lower our own expectations a wee bit if the ARU adopt the same position for us.

Matt o'Connor was brought in for succession planning. He has to be the front runner to get the job. He had to have applied for it last year when everyone else applied for it but inexplicably they re-appointed Graham.

I'm not sure that's what that means, he's simply the most successful coach in the building. Given his number of years coaching super rugby and head coaching anything, I would think that appointing him as head coach would be an admission of defeat. If we can't find somebody with some experience as head coach in a premier rugby competition to do it, we may as well cash in our chips right now.

If Stiles is the likely winner in the Reds race, where does that leave Blackadder?

probably heading to Europe - I doubt the Western Force/ARU can afford what he is worth/asking for.

Nestor wont be the new coach of the Force. Nor will Lancaster. Stiles will be named Reds coach so we can scratch 3 off the list. Personally i dont think any of those 3 are Super Rugby standard coaches so thats good for us.
