Channel 7 Perth is crap!

Channel 10 did a good job of the world cup, why can't they have a shot at the international season too?

The only problem is that Channel 10 only have the FTA AFL rights on a Saturday for 2 games, so regardless of who is playing in AFL, the rugby will take a back seat to AFL. It because Ch 10 and 7 paid something like $700 Million for the AFL rights for the next 5 years, unsure how much they paid for the RWC, but it was not that much.

In actual terms, the amount of people watching the Wallabies play jumped 19% on the respective game last year against Wales.

This is also on top of the 20% increase the S14 coverage had and Rugby in Australia is not exactly in the shithouse like some reporters would like people to believe.

Yeah, but don't forget the World Cup games were mostly on in the middle of the night and it was outside AFL season.

Would be interesting to see what they would do with Wallabies games. My guess would be they would have shown it right after the footy was over. And they would have advertised it during the footy game. So they would have got heaps of carry over fans watching the footy, then watch the Rugby.

Thank you for your email concerning our rugby telecasts.

When scheduling programs on television, we attempt to please as many
people as we can, but unfortunately we will never be able to cater for
everyone's taste in programs at the same time.

I can understand your disappointment with the telecast time however
whilst there is a following for rugby in WA, unfortunately this doesn't
ever seem to translate into a sizeable audience on television in Perth.
We need to be very mindful of what the majority of our viewers want to
watch and In the past when we have telecast Rugby live in Perth it has
been the least watched program in its timeslot, being beaten by programs
on all the other stations at that time. It is a different story in New
South Wales and Queensland which are traditional rugby states and where
rugby telecasts are strongly supported by viewers.

I have a feeling that none of this will make a difference to how you
feel about our schedule of rugby telecasts. You are obviously passionate
about the subject and good on you for it however, as I said before,
unfortunately we can't please everyone all the time, we try to please
the most amount of people we can.

They cant honestly say that it was a better decision to run a repeat of an 8 year old movie (or Home alone again and again and again) instead of showing some support for their own country and broadcasting a international rugby test! The fact that it is delayed an hour or so isnt too bad but to delay it 6 hours, making the day after the fact is unbelievable! Where's your Aussie pride "channel 7 oh master of sports telecasts we support all sports and provide complete olympic coverage" why cant you show a rugby match the same day its played?? HUH????

Oh and the reason no-one watched your telecast last time is probably because the game was in Perth and the fans went to watch it live because we cant get that on tv in Perth!

Test it if you want, write a letter, complaining about the timing of the telecast of any rugby match, you'll get that form letter.

The true test would be to complain about a test match which is telecast live and see if they send you the same letter!

I want to send them the exact same letter atleast once a week and see how long it takes for them to write a non-standardised reply that they have actually sat down and thought about.

The true test would be to complain about a test match which is telecast live and see if they send you the same letter!

Someone should organise this. Email Channel 7 Sydney and complain that the test was shown live and you had to work until 9pm on Saturday night so didn't get a chance to see it. And can they please delay the next game until 11pm or later when to allow all the people who have to work late a chance to see it.

Other option would be to email Channel 7 Perth and say you have to work night shift and don't get home until 4am so can they please delay the telecast until 4.30am.

Would be interesting to see what reply you get then.
