I faxed my membership application through the very first morning too. At Subi I was in Block 100 row P seat 26. At Members Equity I am in block EE10 row C 9. Haven't sat in the stands at ME for a few years so they jury's still out. It would be interesting to know how they allocated the Gold seats - did they start at the blocks closest to the middle and work outwards according to the list ordered by length of membership or just simply start at block E3 and work along?

Looking at Coach's picture, any seat at MES is better and closer to the pitch than any seat at Subi. Does it matter the way they were allocated as long as you got a seat in the right category block - I doubt there would be any scope for changing the seating allocation now anyway, given members would already have renewed.

Yes it does matter when I've paid some 8 grand from day one to date for two seats and have another $1300 to pay this year but someone who maybe came in later has something better because of either a cock-up in the allocations or he can pull some strings. And there's a big difference in the quality of seating depending upon where you are in the "right category block". Just look at the differences applicable to gold memberships.

Transparency is all that is required.

It really doesnt matter where we sit this year or next. The kicker is going to be when they build the shiny new stand and the ones who have remained loyal all the way get the priority.

Well I'm in S6 row K seat 11 ... I think I am going to enquire about upgrading to gold ... or at least get on a waiting list! Mind you my seats are pretty good for taking pictures of tries! so I won't be too disappointed! I think we can all get some good pics now!

If you have photoshop, it'll do the same thing as GIMP.....look in the lower right hand corner and click on the layer which contains your MES image. At the top of that little window will be a drop-down with 'opacity' change the opacity of that layer to about 60-70 percent (adjust it by eye) and voila!

Not sure about Adobe, they usually charge for those programs. You could probably find a torrent pretty easily though.

I use this, its probably one of the best free photo manipulation software.

Or get shunted up the back of the old stand as all the corporates move into the new facilities. My hope is that they ask for folk to register their interest in such a move and don't just impose it.

No it's not, but when you already own Photoshop Elements why change to the OSS solution.

You don't have to convert me to FOSS palitu, I was just answering the question in the easiest way possible for a user who has openly claimed to know nothing about the software he owns, and has no inclination to read a manual to gain said knowledge.

Surely somebody in that situation would be better served to use the software he's already got rather than converting to a new paradigm (which still has a manual)

I spoke to membership dept at RWA this morning and am assured that they have allocated the current seating on the basis of priority as was described some months ago and will do so when a new allocation is required for new facilities.

Whether or not the assessment of which are the better blocks/seats is something that one would agree with is another matter but I am now comfortable that they have at least tried to be fair, particularly to those loger standing members.
