Yeah well, to be expected the usual complete "wipe our hands clean" of referee decisions influencing results.
Even more so in today's style of rugby, sending a player off for 10 minutes or the rest of the game does have an influence on results.
Where players deserve to be sent off, they and the team, have to cop it and fair enough.
When a ref makes a bad decision in sending a player off, he DOES have and influence on the result no matter how blind and defensive Mr. Hill seems to be.
So far, Rocky: one player 1 week, two players 2 weeks with more to come.
"The referee needs to be taken out of reasons for a loss, focus on what you can control (your team) not what you can’t."
So who the Hell does control these guys?
Mr Hill would be wise to take his own advice, and control his team of referees.
Absolutely Mr. Sammut. Maybe even just a tiny bit of accountability.
Yes, RugbyWA are entirely removed from the officiating of the games they run, sanction and are responsible for, bears don't shit in the woods, the Pope is Jewish, referees are all unbiased, etc. etc.
You hear the furore around Rugby WA and where Force players end up playing club rugby. Can you imagine the can of worms that twf'ers and clubs may want to open if Rugby WA were also responsible for weekly ref allocations to matches ?
Which isn't to say it wouldn't be a good thing to have a professional and dedicated employee group responsible for the development of refs, however I reckon that is a political hot potato, not to mention one of finance.
