It has been mentioned in the press that the force are looking in South Africa for a lock. The below players are in the baby books squad so surely would be targets has anyone heard any more rumours on this and if so who would you target?
Jacques du Plessis (Blue Bulls), Irne Herbst (Blue Bulls), Jannes Kirsten (Blue Bulls), Dennis Visser (Blue Bulls)
Generally speaking you aren’t learning much if your lips are moving!!!
Yeah he looked pretty good and disrupted the stormers maul off a set piece by driving through the middle.

So we have 21 signed next year and beyond, plus you could possibly add
22. Heath Tessmann
23. Outside Back - Rob Horne?
24. Second Rower - ?
Which only leaves 6 to sign for 30 man squad plus the old 5 EPS positions, so up to 11 to go.
And you would say that Alfi, Nick, BW will be on the gone list.
80 Minutes, 15 Positions, No Protection, Wanna Ruck?

Education is Important, but Rugby is Importanter!
is the squad being increased with the extra prop on the bench
“Everyone knows whether it’s rugby, politics or whatever, front-rowers should rule the world, so to have a hooker at the helm makes sense,” Nathan Charles Western Force & Wallabies Hooker.
Normally just 1 I believe.
And Welcome![]()
So here is what we've got for next year:
Props: Longbottom, Cowan, Faulkner, Manu (reportedly) + 1 (with new prop rules) + 1 EPS (hopefully Oli Hoskins).
Hookers: Charles + 1 (Tessman has definitely earnt a full contract) + 1 EPS (Hilterbrand again?)
Locks: Hugh McMeniman, Sam Wykes, Phoenix Battye + 1 + 1 EPS
Backrowers: Alcock, Brown (although apparently not), Cottrell, McCalman, Hodgson + 1
Scrum-halves: Mathewson, Prior + 1 EPS
Flyhalves: Ebersohn, Norton-Knight + 1 EPS
Inside Centres: Godwin, Tuatara-Morrison
Outside Centres: + 2
Wings: Ed Stubbs + 3
Fullbacks: Holmes, Luke Morahan
Definitely need outside backs.

holmes would be a #10
Sure we can do the old switcheroo on Holmes and SNK.

So is Cummins definitely going? If so, any rumours where?

I wouldn't say definitely. He is probably trying to get the best contract possible. He will probably wait to see if he is in the Wallabies squad against the Lions and if not go to France for the big $$$. Probably the only other franchise that could afford him under the salary cap is the Rebels.

Brown is also hanging out for a similar deal
Browny has given us years of service since the beginning and for probably not a lot of cash. He'll be 29 next year so who'd begrudge him his super? Hopefully he'll return and play premier grade later.

Shame about Brown but you are right BG - loyal service, no longer in Wallaby contention, time for his day in the sun. Top lad and good luck to him if he chooses to cash it all in.
We will miss him.
