As a fan of both "Rugby" games, as I know many of you are, I encourage you to get behind the Reds in 2009 which promises to be an exciting year.
Great to hear that the Force will be moving to MES in 2010 as it will mean that both codes are away from AFL and playing on a dedicated rectangular ground.
The WARL/Reds have negotiated a pre season game between St George Illawara (coached for the first time by super coach, Wayne Bennett) against Brad Fittler's Sydney Roosters on the 14th February.
This game promises to be a cracker as both coaches are committed to bringing all their stars over and both teams will arrive a week prior and will be involved in several lead up events, lunches, dinners etc. Wayne Bennett will run an all sports coaching forum which is being supported by the Department of Sport and Recreation.
For more info or for tickets visit: www.waredsrugbyleague.com.au
In June the WARL/Reds will also present a competition game in partnership with the South Sydney Rabbitohs against the Melbourne Storm which also promises to be a beauty.
Both of the above games are included in the 2009 Reds Membership along with a host of other extras.
As the Reds games are played outside of the Western Force draw, why not consider a Reds Membership?
The more “Rugby” played in this state the stronger BOTH codes will grow against the AFL and Soccer, etc. We need to team up rather than work against one another!
We have recruited exceptionally well and the Reds team for 2009 will be much stronger and more confident across the board with the goal to make the finals then move up to the NSW Cup in 2010 then on to the NRL by 2012.
If you are a Rugby League fan we need your attendance at the St George v Sydney game in February to show the NRL that our game can draw a crowd and that Perth is a viable option for the next NRL expansion.
Visit the Reds site in the lead up to the new season and watch Rugby League develop in Western Australia. Better still, get on board for 2009.

Jeez you mongrels are intimidatory!
I reckon that although this is spam (as defined by the site's well argued definition of spam) It's good spam.......Let's face it, we'll be co-habiting a stadium with these guys in 2010, we've got many members who are interested in both codes and we're interested in building the relationship between rugby and mungoball......I'd let this one slide jargs!
C'mon the![]()

Did you fire up the barby too ?

and I'm sure on a professional level they can build a relationship.
On the supprters side of things though I have noticed that some people are Union followers and others are League followers,a dn that most won't have a bar of the "other" game.
Go ask TLH for his opinion on League
You know me and I follow both codes but it is still spam
There is only one Rugby..the other is League. My myopic vision hinders my ability to see the bigger picture.
KQ, that is the big picture.
Thanks Andy...what was I thinking? And on that note, I retract the contradictory second sentence.
