Fiji - Coral Coast or Denarau?

Am off to Fiji in July and can't decide whether to stay on the Coral Coast or Denarau. Anyone have any recommendations?

Yes Fiji is a terrible decision, I'll help you out by confiscating your tickets.

Green with envy Alison! Used to travel to Fiji on business a lot in the 90s. Always stayed at the Sheraton Denarau – beach front rooms. Suggest you use Trip Advisor to check latest ratings as it's getting on in age now. Everything was very close so you could walk from one hotel to the next to drink/dine so plenty of variety. Day cruises and outdoor dinners with Fijian dancers/fire etc is awesome. Can't comment on the Coral Coast.

Fijian's are such great people and really make you feel welcome. They're great with kids too, taking them off your hands for a few hours for sports etc. If no kids, the Sheraton has a adults only pool area for peace When you're out for dinner on the last night, tell them you're about to leave – they usually get the staff around and sing you the after dinner farwell song Isa Lei - moving stuff..[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ppuoV_MaiK4"]Isa Le[/ame]

It's a place I have always wanted to go to since I saw photos of the place as a youngster growing up in Pomland. I finally get to live my dream! If you lot come too it sounds like we could have ourselves a great pool party, or ten! (No bunga bungas though!)

Thanks SB, that's fabulous :-)) I have been looking at the Sheraton funnily enough. And as I am Cruella Deville when it comes to kids, the adults only pool sounds very, very, very awesome!!
