I'm not in the Wolfmother demographic but I did appreciate the "vibe" if not the volume.
That got me thinking, which band would I prefer? Trouble is, most of the ones that come to mind have members that are either decrepit, demented or dead. Arguably The Rolling Stones fit all three categories (Keith Richard being proof there is life after death).
I was going to suggest Daddy Cool, but since the loss of the great Ross Hannaford I doubt they'll be back.
So I thought I'd kick off a new thread for suggestions. So who's got any ideas?
Difficult to think of a band (or even a type of music) who everyone will enjoy.
Maybe you want a wedding/covers style band who can play tunes to get the crowd singing along; as when two of the players on the screen were singing Country Road very badly and everyone joined in - partly to drown out the noise!
Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
I think they should have some brass and a drum where Wolfmother were, all game. Like the wildcats in 1987 with Cal Bruton, James Crawford etc
The long sobs of autumn's violins wound my heart with a monotonous languor
I think with a band like Wolfmother, or similar, its attracting people who wouldnt come to Rugby.
Its the whole entertainment experience.
we go to the rugby because we love Rugby.
Minderoo are trying to find a larger audience
I guess

"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now if you know what you’re worth then go out and get what you’re worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain’t you! You’re better than that!" - Rocky Balboa
Perth bands like Birds of Tokyo, Karnivool, Eskimo Joe, End of Fashion, Katy and Luke Steele or Aussie bands like Gyroscope, Butterfly Effect, Pnau etc. Plenty of Aussie bands out there. Personally I'd like to see Parkway Drive but they might be a bit heavy for some people.
I thought there might of been Wolfmother fans buying tickets but there were not many that gave them a second glance from what i saw. I think the wedding band idea is a great one. Smashing out all the party anthems.

Hadn't really listened to Wolfmother before but I thought they were awesome!
Been a fan of Wolfmother for a while and was more than happy to see/hear them live. I do like the idea of having a small brass band through out the game as long as they don’t play while the game is on! During injury breaks no problem while the ball is being moved around the paddock “big problem”
May the FORCE be with you!
