Jones sacked as Wallabies coach
The Australian Rugby Union (ARU) has sacked Wallabies coach Eddie Jones due to the team's recent poor form.
The ARU made the announcement in Sydney this afternoon.
The Wallabies lost eight of their last nine internationals, including Tests against France, England and Wales on their recent European tour.
It is believed Jones has reached a settlement with the ARU regarding the remainder of his contract.
New South Wales coach Ewen McKenzie is the leading contender to replace Jones, while former Brumbies coach David Nucifora has reportedly voiced his desire to take charge of the Wallabies.
Western Force coach John Mitchell said today he would not be applying for the job.
