Samoa took a giant step towards securing Oceania's qualifying spot at Rugby World Cup 2011 with an impressive 115-7 victory over Papua New Guinea at Apia Park on Saturday.
The overwhelming favourites to secure the Oceania 1 berth and a place in Pool D with defending champions South Africa, Wales, Fiji and the Africa 1 qualifier scored a remarkable seventeen tries in the first leg.

Genia, Daruda, Henari Veratau and Al Manning could probably have helped the situation somewhat.
PNG has always been a great potential for Union expansion for mine.
The only country in the world with League as their national sport with no shortage of very hard and reasonably skilfull players, with the right promotion and IRB investment I believe they could soar up the ladder and be in the running for fringe RWC qualification.
Surely a tremendous opportunity for a developing (or even retiring) Coach to take on as a project?

Guess what sport is the fastest growing game in PNG. If you guest Rugby then you'd be 100% correct. The Puk Puks had 10,000 turn up to watch the game against the Cook Islands in Port Moresby.
