In the West online today:
The Western Force lost their identity during their horror 2015 campaign, but centre Kyle Godwin is confident they've rediscovered themselves after a brutally honest review.
The Force finished dead last in 2015 in a season that produced just three wins from 16 games.
After the campaign finished, Force players and coaches got together for an open and honest review - and they soon realised that something very important was missing.
"One of the main things the boys picked out of it is we forget who we were - who we wanted to play for," Godwin said.
"We lost that team culture of winning and losing together.
"That's something Foles (coach Michael Foley) is really implementing this year."
In a bid to address the issue, the Force employed leadership expert Darren Harris during the off-season.
Harris, a former assistant coach at AFL club Carlton, has helped revive the team's culture to what it was in 2014, when the Force only narrowly missed the finals.
"A lot of stuff revolves around challenging each other on and off the field," Godwin said.
"When the boys are doing well, there's a big emphasis on giving them a pat on the back.
"Or when the boys are out of line, having the courage to call them out for the benefit of the team.
"He's been really building that team culture."
On the field, the Force have vowed to play with more width and speed in 2016.
It's music to the ears of Godwin, who will have a big responsibility playing in either the No.12 or 13 guernsey.
"Last year our ball wasn't quick enough, and we weren't playing with enough width," Godwin said.
"We were very tight. Teams were able to read us quite easily. So they are some of the things we're implementing this year."

Hopefully we can recapture some of the magic from 2014.
Getting a little tedious reading the same stuff year after year, TBH. I'd prefer to see it on the paddock, but I think we still don't have the cattle. For the first time, we discussed not going around again. We did renew but it felt a little masochistic, I gotta say.
"The main difference between playing League and Union is that now I get my hangovers on Monday instead of Sunday - Tom David
Yeah, have to admit my first (and second) response was "Yeah, whatever..."
I'm still giving it 4 rounds. These articles are testing my resolve though
By their actions shall I judge them...
Even if we do tick all the boxes, does anybody seriously expect us to be better than mid-table?

They really went downhill without Hodgson.

90% of what Godwin said was pre-scripted spin. Everyone sees through that stuff - we're not that dumb anymore. RugbyWA should stop wheeling players out in front of the cameras and do all the talking on the field in February instead.
Proudly Western Australian; Proudly supporting Western Australian rugby
Do any other SuperRugby teams have leadership/culture experts in to tell them how to be a team?

I see plenty of puff pieces on Fox Sports and other various online sources about how *insert professional sports club* are on a team buildlng weekend or a leadership camp etc etc.
Quite right in saying that they should be judged on the pitch I guess having ther Force in the news is better than nothing even if it is a puff piece. The flip side is no coverage at all and then we whinge about the no coverage. Maybe the media officer at RugbyWA can have more of a think about the articles though because it is pretty much the same stuff we've been reading for the last 7 or 8 years.
Where's the bit about doing it for "the sea of blue because without them we're nothing"?
bla bla bla same old same old watch us this year ................
Well it's interesting to see the contrast between team cultures. I was really hoping that we could get Tomas Cubelli a few years ago when he was off contract and we were looking for a scrum-half, now it looks like the Brumbies have him.
