Argonaut Gold and Nedlands flanker Will Brock has joined the Western Force Gold tour of South Africa, which left Perth for Johannesburg this morning.
The 20 year old has put in strong performances in both the Australian Rugby Shield and the local First Grade competitions this year, and has previously played Australian Sevens team, Australian 19s and Australian Schoolboys.
Brock will replace Tim Davidson in the touring squad, who has requested - and been granted - an early release from his contract with the Emirates Western Force.
Davidson told RugbyWA Chief Executive Peter O'Meara that he wanted to return to the east coast to be closer to family and friends.
Western Force Gold coach John Mulvihill said the squad had trained with enthusiasm during the week and all of its members were looking forward to the tour.
"There's a great vibe amongst fellas and they're really excited at the prospect of playing some quality opposition," he said.

Does anyone know how to get news/match reports etc from the Western Force Gold Tour? Are any of the Games on the box?
Nothing will be televised, so we have to wait on RugbyWA's site - or quite possibly the SA teams sites...
I have a mate in Pretoria....do you think the games might be televised on their TV stations in SA? Maybe I can get it/them taped?
That would be cool! I have no idea, but sopmeone familiar with SA TV could probably fnd a TV Guide type site which would tell us.. Apparently the first game at Woodburn Stadium in Pietermaritzburg, is a sellout - more than 8,000 people expected to attend.
Force may have come last, but they certainly gained some respect along the way.
