British and Irish Lions captain Sam Warburton has been ruled out of the series decider in Sydney with a hamstring injury.
Warburton, the player who caused the Wallabies so much grief at the breakdown in the second Test in Melbourne, injured his hamstring at the bottom of a ruck 13 minutes from full-time on Saturday.
He told the post-match press conference he was not sure how bad the injury was and stayed in Melbourne for scans on Sunday while the rest of the Lions squad travelled to
Noose.
While the Lions boast rich depth at No.7 and throughout their back row, Warburton's leadership will be harder to replace in the absence of 2009 captain Paul O'Connell, who broke his arm in the first Test in Brisbane.
Veteran centre Brian O'Driscoll is the most likely replacement behind O'Connell, but his position in the starting line up could be under scrutiny if Jamie Roberts and Manu Tuilagi are available.
