The monkey is off our back! Victory at last, a win that should have been ours a fortnight ago (so much for technology). For the first time, our changeroom walls reverberated to the roar of the team song. Stoic defence and more Staniforth magic won us the day. Thank you for the calls and texts of support. We hear the Irish Club was electric, the Leederville was alive and the Kalamunda Hotel rocked! As Mitch said in the post-match press conference, we love who we play for. Not surprisingly, the police escort we had for the 3km bus drive to the game - sirens wailing, lights flashing - was no where to be seen on the trip back to the hotel. But that didn't matter - we were well capable of making our own noise. The following morning - as one does after triumph in Kimberley - we visited the Big Hole…a gaping, 300m deep testament to a tough, hard life on South Africa's diamond fields in the 1870s. We're now in Port Elizabeth, preparing for the Sharks…

Got to be set to Star Wars 'Imperial March' surely (yup, thought about the main Star Wars theme but it's not really rousing enough...). Haven't come up with words yet - any suggestions?

I still stand by my post 3 above as to how the song starts, but I've heard that the tune it is sung to is remeniscent of Waltzing Matilda and the chorus starts "western force, western force, we are the men from the western force"

Perhaps its not being made public coz its a players victory song? Who knows, but I think the supporters are after anything we can get at the moment - perhaps we can start developing our own based around this? Chorus - "Western Force, Western Force, we are the fans of the Western Force" ?
