A week ago Neddies very very nearly lost against an under strength Kalamunda with a final score of 25 to 31 for Neddies. Then already did I think that they did not play the game they should be playing at this time of the season
This week Neddies played Baysie and very nearly got there asses wiped by Bayswater in 1st grade and second grade. The 2013 champions were very lucky to crawl out of this one with a 14 all draw in 1st and 24 all draw in 2nd grade.
After looking at the Nedlands premier side player list I it was interesting to see various U19 boys in the squad, some in the starting team and One in particular that has just jumped ship from the struggling U/19 Wanneroo team and was sitting on the bench with a no 23 jumper on. Is this due to a lack of numbers?
Bayswater on the other hand is playing out of their skins and this performance will give them even a bigger motivation to throw everything at it in attempt to thump competition leaders Cottesloe next week at Morley.
premiers Nedlands 14 v Perth Bayswater 14
second grade Nedlands 24 v Perth Bayswater 24
championship A Nedlands 44 v Perth Bayswater 5
championship B Nedlands 0 v Perth Bayswater 7
U/19 Nedlands 64 v Perth Bayswater 12
Wonder what Mr Ball think of this performance
bg I was down that way with Marcell refereeing Champ C grade and Nedlands did not play well at all in any of the 2 top grades.

thats true pieter--but phantom keeps harping on about the so called demise of Nedlands--gets a bit boring after a while
my son was playing in that c grade game-he wasn't the one red carded though
by the way,he reffed pretty well, missed a bit,but that was ok--think the teams were happy with his effort

We were contacted by a few Wanneroo U/19 boy's a few weeks back and they were told to stay put as it 's bloody important for the comp to remain viable. Gibbo was contacted straight away to jump on it.
If clubs see fit to accept players from this grade who have already started the season for someone else they will be the ones responsible when their club ends up playing the same team every second week.
Shouldn't be allowed to happen and a bit disappointing that it does happen
Wests Scarborough 1st Grade juggernaut has played finals rugby each and every year since its inception and continues this remarkable feat yet again this season and unbelievably it's still rolling on and as an added little circle jerk for the masses Wests actually hold the record for the current longest unbroken finals record.
why were they wanting to leave, they are doing ok in the comp?
The Wanneroo second grade result was disappointing. Any game that ends up with a cricket score ain't a game of rugby. On a slightly different note, there are 3 WA boys in the RWC under 20's team. Well done to those boys and the other one's who just missed out during the final cut.
Why won't they play Aranmore

Would like to see top PSA school play someone like Wanneroo u/14 Gold or Joondalup u/15 Gold reckon the result would be quite embarrassing for kids 2 or 3 years older

agree with you Westie , the Hale kids would really struggle playing the top Rugby club age group teams .
in regards to those Wanneroo 19's i heard one dropped down at UWA the other week expecting to play first grade , obviously he kept moving around until someone took him . Very sad the young fella didn't stay at his own club. Neddies obviously thinking a bit about the future and blooding some of their younger players who are new to the club .
I remember when I was playing U19 for Wanneroo and we had a bad season, getting smashed, so half the team left and went to Nedlands or Cott, I suppose it's a good way of getting rid of all the mercenary players who are only in it for themselves. It's not like the Wanneroo colts are doing too bad this year anyway.
