Actually really impressed with the seats - I feared that they would all be cramed in to get the maximum number of seats, but the seats are quite wide and there's probably 2-3 inches between them which gave us enough shoulder room. I think there's a bit more leg room, but that may be just a greater ability to swivel your legs sideways. Plus, I like the steep raking - great view of the entire ground and screens.

Really not sure about the access to the East stand, though. At the end of the game it took quite a while for the stand to clear. Not sure what would happen in a fire.

I was sitting 7 rows down from top in new eastern stand and the sound system seemed OK.

I just looked on wiki and is has down 12700 as the attendance. I would have thought there was more there and the lose wont help get that number back up.

Having the AFL derby on at the same time didn't do us any favours. I'm sure there are sports fans who follow both codes and had to choose one over the other.

There needs to be a way to gain direct access to the higher rows of the stand. Maybe an embankment with ramps? Either way, seven minutes of gridlock after the final whistle, when the stand wasn't even full, shows a very clumsy design.

How much of that was to do with Gate 4 not being in operation last night though?

There may have been some congestion on the BBQ Terrace, but I think this was weight of numbers trying to get down the stairs; I'd say the Terrace is wide enough that the stairs are the pinch point.

seven minutes to clear what - 5 or 6k people? that ain't too bad.

i think the stairs were the pinch point. i just stayed in my seat the extra couple of minutes and let the emotion of the loss wear out a little before making a quick exit.

overall i thought the new stand was great. can't wait till the next home game now!

Not to clear mate, seven minutes of gridlock. The line finally began to move after that. It cleared after.

I've got a feeling, once the construction site is removed, the open back will allow more than one exit to the gates, I have a feeling that timing will reduce significantly.

I was on the ground level and was pretty impressed with the completely open back onto the concourse. That section will clear in seconds once the scaffolding is gone.
