New approach paying off for Force, says Mitchell

Western Force coach John Mitchell says he is delighted with the attitude of his players since the end of an inquiry into his leadership.
A retired judge investigated Mitchell's relationships with players and staff after allegations that he had alienated them.
Mitchell admits he has changed his approach to players since the allegations.
But the former All Blacks coach says he does not need to be as forceful as he used to be.
"It's fair to say that we imposed culture and that can only last so long so," he said.
"What I'm sensing from the situation is that we've got a far more mature group and a group that wants to become more responsible. So that's fantastic."

Good news for the Force. Good to hear that the issues appear to have been voiced and taken on baord by all and sundry and now the group is striving forward.
I cannot wait for Feb 13 for Super 14 to get under way.
good to see JM admiting he can change and that the former imposed culture has gone, also good on the squad for standing up for what they believe in, and not be afraid to speak up where they think things are not being run correctly.........now lets get the results where it matters on the field not in newspapers or inquiries...this is a massive year for our club on and off the field....
Get the iron fist out. No shirkers. We want success.
Step up or get out of the way
How about some running rugby from the attack coach?
Must've taken on board what TEF was telling him at the TWF Awards Night!!!
CHEERLEADERS ROCK!!!
Can't wait to see the teams performance after whatever it was TEF was ranting at the players after the match atthen!
No point asking what it was, he doesn't even remember them being there![]()
"Bloody oath we did!"

Im glad to see Muddy and Dave have the integrity to ignore a story which completely refutes everything they've said.
I will use this story to prove most of what I've been saying. It appears the findings of the inquiry are imminent (if not delivered) and there seems not to be mention of serious misconduct, merely a change in style. OK if Mitch sees the style change a s a good thing and the players can move forward, surely things weren't as bad as some around here were making them out to be!
There's probably a bit of spin in the story, but really you can't spin "I'm getting the sack and I'll be out of here in a fortnight" into "I have made some changes to my style and everbody's on the same page" I have thought ever since Mitch was allowed to take charge of trainings again that the inquiry was more of a publicity measure to show that due process has been followed and take the power out of the media's assertation that Mitch is universally hated!
Possibly it was also a subversive campaign to see how the public felt about the people's coach!
