28th October 2008, 13:30 WST
Winger Hosea Gear will make his Test debut and star flyhalf Daniel Carter will play at inside centre in the New Zealand starting line-up against Australia in a Bledisloe Cup rugby match at Hong Kong on Saturday.
Gear, who was the top tryscorer in New Zealand’s National Provincial Championship which ended last weekend, was selected on the right wing for the All Blacks.
“Hosea has been outstanding in the (NPC). He comes into the team in fantastic form,” All Blacks coach Graham Henry said........

A kick in this game is like a rather nasty alcoholic shooter, only as good as it's chaser...

Carter back to #12, hmmm....
Everything else would be as expected in Camp Wallaby I would imagine.

nothing too unexpected there.........
We have got to target that midfield... Stephen Donald has erratic form at best and Carter isn't too experienced at 12 and between those two and Conrad Smith they really don't have a raging bull style line breaker like Mortlock.
Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast.
I'm suprised Kahui isn't there. His position is a centre and putting Carter in at 12 ahead of him is strange. I wouldn't say it's the best man for the job, but then he is a very talented played so who knows. I sense a lote-drew situation, except Carter is good.
From their 10-12 selection the All Blacks aren't taking this game terribly seirously. More experiments that seriousness. The game itself isn't too serious, but it is an international game. Oh I would LOVE to thrash them... but by no more than 12 points! A mild thrashing

Update peeps on AB team. Mils pulled out for personal reasons and is replaced by Toeava. Corey Jane added to bench.
Thanks 4![]()
