As expected, Nathan Sharpe has been named the inaugural Captain of Emirates Western Force. Mitchell announced Sharpe's selection today in addition to naming no.8 Scott Fava as Vice Captain.
In a TWF Poll, Sharpe was considered a ring in for the Captains position, but Fava suprisingly seems to have been a bit of an underdog in taking the 2IC position with zero votes. See the full TWF poll results here
Dear Lord, if you give us back Johnny Cash, we'll give you Justin Bieber.
Even if "expected", a great honour for Sharpey and obviously a popular choice.
Possibly one of the most passionate players going around at the moment (if his frequent national anthem meltdowns are anything to go by!) and he will be a real inspiration to the younger crew.
What a fortnight he's having with awards, appointments and nuptials all happening at the same time.
From the outside the appointment of Scott Fava is definately a "dark horse" win as he doesn't seem to have much in the way of leadership duties in his resume`, but congratulations none the less. Another really passionate player with a real hard nose edge to him.
We're running out of boxes to tick before the kick off now!!!
Right you are Burgs! Sharpes appointment may well have been a given, but this is only because of his skills and passion on and of the ball - he most certainly has earnt the captaincy!
A hearty Congratulations to the two of them!
