Rory Sidey suspended for three weeks after a SANZAR Judicial Hearing today.

Harsh for a first offence. I guess the amount of rotation in the tackle pushed the sentence higher.
VERY harsh!!
What about the Sharks player that shouldered Sidey's head after the tackle? Anything?
Force get the rough end of the stick with both referees & judiciary.

Look, it was a bastard of a tackle, Sidey's got the shaft because he's not experienced enough to fix Fairbanks' mistake. Three weeks sounds pretty hard, but not completely unexpected. I'd think fair would be Fairbanks for a couple and Sidey for one.....but the Judiciary probably can't touch Fairbanks after the Ref fingered Sidey for the tackle.
As for the other comments, I have no clue how the sharks escaped citation for a blatant shoulder charge to the head and two cases of attacking the head to pull a player into the ruck.....but apparently they were that much better on the night.
I'm just happy Cummins wasn't cited for that sickening late, high, shoulder charge he was carded for late in the game

Look I'm going to just say it: I reckon Ndungane was faking it and will play next week. By saying that I don't in any way condone the tackle.
Plumtree said in the after game press conference that he was taken off for a presumed concussion which he found odd because he said Ndungane didn't land on his head.
Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast.
Maybe but that was always going to be at least 2 weeks.
That is f*cked.

It's a rubbish penalty - in effect, its 4 weeks since he missed most of the Sharks game. An eye gouge probably only gets 4 more weeks (cough Schalk Burger cough).
I have no issue with reckless lifting tackles being penalised, but his actions here were clumsy, not malicious.
I like the NRL system of carry over points for infringements. Clean players who make a mistake, serve a short penalty and then learn from their mistake.
What?!
Was he given more because of any lip he might have given?

it is the courage to continue that counts.

James, he was knocked out. That is why he didn't just get up because he was ok. I even said on the night that he was probably out, and they needed to take the precaution just in case.
so, case in point is that there was head contact with the ground. which means that there was some danger in the tackle.
