The Ford Australian Under 20s have named a 22-man squad for their first match at the iRB Junior World Championship against Canada in Newport on Friday (Saturday AEST).
The starting XV boasts seven players with Investec Super 14 experience and the majority of the squad has also represented Australia at Schoolboy or U19 level.
Queensland Reds duo Will Genia and Quade Cooper will form the halves combination, while Waratahs centre Rob Horne will also be unleashed on the Canadians.
Horne’s Waratahs team mate, Kurtley Beale, has withdrawn from the squad after sustaining an ankle injury in the Super 14 final against the Crusaders last weekend and has been replaced by Rowan Kellam.
Coach Brian Melrose has opted for pace out wide with Blair Connor and Ratu Nasiganiyavi on the wings, with Western Force’s Dane Haylett-Petty starting at fullback.
