Latham injured in home debut
September 22, 2008 - 12:38PM
Former Wallaby fullback Chris Latham's first home match Worcester Warriors has ended with a trip to hospital.
Play was stopped for several minutes in the second half of the Guinness Premiership clash between Worcester and the undefeated Leicester Tigers at Sixways on Saturday after Latham was injured in a crunching collision.
The former Queensland Red was assisted from the field and went to hospital after suffering a head and neck injury.
Warriors rugby director Mike Ruddock said after the game: "Chris has gone to hospital as a precaution.
"Our medical staff checked him out and he was keen to walk off the pitch. We are not anticipating anything too sinister, and it is purely a precautionary measure, but I would imagine he will be sore for a couple of days."
Latham is in doubt for Worcester's next game against Bath on Saturday.
Worcester lost the match 19-17
