Yep that works for me - if le Costa, Larkham and Shepherd are fit - there are question marks over the recover time of the last 2 and the speed of 1st - the really big problem is what do you do if any of the holy trinity (Gregan, Larkham and Gitts) go down.
Also I take it from all of this that no Wallaby Fan is into the idea of resting some of the players ahead of RWC - we just want to do well in the Tri- Nations
Really like the captains though - imagine having both the captain and vice captain on the pitch for a whole 90 minutes - what a novel concept - do you think it would catch on
61 years between Grand SlamsWas the wait worth it - Ya betta baby
I'm all for novelty!
I would have TPN cover hooker and he can play flanker in a pinch. The Dunning is there cos I think he's funny. Waugh hasn't had much game time so he can come on at the end once the Wallabies are up by 50+. Palu to come on and smash the tired dregs of the Welsh team after Hoiles has softened him up a bit.
2Dads gets a rest cos he really isn't up for it yet. Josh Holmes can cover Greegs and cover fullback and winger and just about anything.
Speed on either wing with Turner and Diggers, with Costa Lote and/or Spanner to come on in wings or centres to smash whatever Hoiles and palu and co have left for them.
My score projection with this team is........: Wallabies 72 , Wales 9 (Hook penalties only)

He will always be a Tah, at heart. He will return to us one day soon, better and brighter.

Not saying it is "my" best 22 however, using the Squad available to draw from this is the team I would like to see tried this weekend.
I have given Bernie and Shep an extra week off to get themselves right for Fiji.

Here's my 22, when putting this together I've left out Latham and Shepherd for injury, Tuqiri for his stupid fitness program. Jeremy Paul, Henjak and McIsaac would be in my squad but have been left out because there is no hope the selectors are going to pick them.
1. Shepherdson
2. Moore
3. Henderson
4. Sharpe (C)
5. Vickerman
6. Elsom
7. Smith
8. Hoiles (thought Palu was great but would like to see Hoiles get a go)
9. Gregan
10. Larkham (if not fit, Giteau)
11. Mitchell
12. Giteau (if he's playing 10 then Staniforth)
13. Mortlock
14. Gerrard
15. Hewat
16. Frier
17. Any prop but Dunning
18. Chisholm
19. Waugh
20. Palu
21. Ashley-Cooper
22. Schifcoske
Only problem with this lineup is there is no halfback on the bench. However, without Henjak being considered I don't think there is another Test calibre halfback in the country. Cordingley proved he shouldn't even be on Australia A with his game against Tonga.
Dunning had a good game against Wales he held his own in the scrum for most of the time whilst on the park. So dont fix which aint broken. At the moment anyway it does take a while for new forwards to gell. So leave the tight 5 the way it is for another game. A surprise (wish ) call up for Henjack on the bench. Gregan back where he belongs and Gits back to the centres. Bring in Spanners and there you go. Sorry Knuckles did not know it was that simple.
The only Props available in the Squad are Dunning, Shepherdson, Robinson and Baxter.
Personally I felt Shepherdson was solid (by the standard of the team), Robinson went better than Dunning and deserves a start and anyone is better than Baxter.
That said, if Baxter is back to health I expect that it will be 1. Baxter, 3. Shepherdson, 17. Dunning.
