Force victory over Kiwis proves team a Super 14 threat

OUR first victory, our first success at home and last weekend's first win in NZ were magic milestones, writes Western Force star Cameron Shepherd.
And our defeat over the Kiwis proves to the competition that we are a real threat.
I know I wasn't feeling the best at half-time, but we came together in the dressing room, looked each other in the eye and knew we had the heart and talent to get ourselves back in the game.
I was so impressed with the whole team, but I thought Richard Brown and Pek Cowan were exceptional - with Richard taking out our players' player award.
It was also nice to get over the tryline myself, because I have been a little bit disappointed in my form this season.
We knew we had a real chance when Blues fly half Nick Evans left the field. We immediately grew in confidence. The patience and commitment we showed when the going got tough was fantastic to see.
One of the difficult things to deal with on our trip was finding that Auckland‘s biggest irish pub was located directly below our hotel rooms.
The band played till 1am with every speaker up to maximum on the Friday night before the game. Not the best preparation.
We thought that was bad, until we saw the whole street had been closed off for a St Patricks Day party on the Monday.
A few boys dropped in for some river dancing and folk singing. It seemed fair enough considering the band was back with double the amount of speakers and sleep was hard to come by.
On a lighter, funnier note, I don't want to drop anyone in it, but the only guy in our team with a huge afro lost a bet to drew Mitchell.
Lets just say he is now as smooth as a baby's bottom!!
